New MnU logo and back to work!

MnU finally has a new look thanks to the efforts put in by our loving team member/leader,Ed
. Cute ain't it?
Also, work is finally underway for the new artbook which we hope will be the best one yet! Last Saturday,the gang save for 2(you know who you are), met up at our HQ to discuss on how the new front cover will look like and all the other bits and pieces that needs to be settled for the book and publishing side.
Check out the photos of our meeting in the MnU gallery.
But for now, a whole lot of work that needs finishing and not a lot of time to do it. So till the next update, Cheers folks!

Yay, our artbook, MNU Illustrative Content IV is done (books come on Friday 15th early morning! *_*) and we're all spent. the excitement is still high as we're coming closer to the conventions that we'll be attending here though! (Sci-Fi Convention @ Cineleisure & Comic Fiesta 2006) It's gonna be a blast, the teams gonna be split in two groups alternating to man the booths at each festival.

Phew finished another meeting this week. Headache >_< Everyone's busy doing stuff for the book. Everyone has gotten better this year ganbatte!
Animation is progressing slowly as we're concentrating on churning out nice nice pictures for the book Sorting out how to do Alphaleo's scenes. Oi, headache, need lots of layers and planning! But it's going to look really cool once everything is settled Also
Finished a test animation to show the effects of Sc26 (Sunnydew's scene). After some tweaks, it should look really good in the finished scene

Tonight we had our big meeting. I was so fired up. I even typed meeting notes to give out to the members! We've discussed about a number of things.
The big news is that we all will be concentrating on our Artbook more. Sad to say, the animation wont be finished in time for this year's Comic Fiesta. What we will do is show the full animation in a work-in-progress format. As in the whole animation with some scenes that would either be still in storyboard, just color keys, rough animation and some fully composited. If you've seen the Beauty and the Beast WIP, you'd know what I'm talking about
Yes and finally we have the first scene all done! It looks so beautiful. I was misty-eyed the first time I looked at it.

HAHAHAHAHA I'M SO EXCITED I HAVE TO POST
We have our fist scene DONE and it looks SO FREAKING COOL. Ok so it's short (2 secs) but it's not the length that's important, it's how you use it...uhm, yeah. Well actually, I can't really post it yet but maybe next week
On a production note, we manage to smoothen the kinks a little bit here and there. Like you know making standards to follow like scanning on blabla DPI, field size should be like dat, clean-up urself, color modelsheets, all of dat lah. It's really turning out to be an enjoyable ride
FYI, Toonboom's camera...thingy....is like the best thing EVER. I did a camera shake (testing only la) and it was FUN. And might be useless to some people but if you import a .png file into Toonboom, it'll convert it to .targa

The 31st August marks a great day for all of us Malaysians. To the MnU gang, not only is it a day to celebrate the independance of our country but also a day that our mugs were featured on News Straits Times!

We had another big meeting among the team members recently on the 24th this month. Team members present were and
Everyone there was given a brief recap of whats been going on and we are a bit behind schedule for productions,so pick up the pace everyone! Each of the members were presented with a copy of the storyboards,so whoever didn't get their copy,please refer to the directors for it. Head animator has already divided the scenes among the animators. Those who weren't present on the day of discussion,please do refer to Ayon for your scenes.
Mood boards,backgrounds etc. will be undertaken by and
we need those modelsheets,pronto! XD
Discussions on the new MnU book this year was also discussed.
Book cover linework will be done by with handling the colors. The thing about this years book is that we'll be having a unified artwork based on the themes that were narrowed down that night. The theme is Carnival/Funfair,Music/Rythm and Fashion. So each member has to come up with one artwork only based on the themes mentioned just now. Use your creativity and imagination,folks! The reason for this new edition is to boost creativity and for your to practice. So GO CRAZY,guys! ^^

*Ahem* Yeah so UPDATES!
- Our kickass music is almost ready! Now all we have to do is a proper animatic reel to get the timing right.
- We'll be having a meeting with the animation department soon to see who gets what scenes to animate.
- So my trusty ( and SO hard working!! ) co-director, Mr. Sexyblue, will be doing the model sheets for every friggin character ( OMG dood I dont wanna be in your shoes right now hahaha! ).
- And the lazybum ( that's ME ) gnd, will be doing some color keys ( which I have been saying like FOR-EVAH )...
- We HAVE to have a party soon or Imma gonna CRY...
Well so far so good I guess ^_^ Work hard everyone! ( What why is everyone looking at me like that? O_O;;; )

Right! The storyboards almost done...Hoos just have to put in the finishing touches to the music and gnd is now working on the color keys for each scene. Me,Ed and Gnd have been meeting up since last week to brainstorm and finalize the thumbnails n storyboards. Thanks very much Ayon for your input,it's been a life saver. After a couple of strenuous burning of the midnight oil,Director Ed is sick,I'm feeling the bug too and Director Gnd is sick of coming over and probably catching the bug too. XD
More updates to come. Will be having another group meeting soon once all the scenes in the storyboards have been fleshed out.
